Food & Overall Ratings
How people actually rate it
Peninsula perfection
Hyatt Ziva Cancun occupies an entire peninsula — the only resort in Cancun surrounded on three sides by the Caribbean. That gives it two beaches: a wide, calm bay-side beach (great for swimming and kids) and a wilder ocean-side beach (better for photos and sunrise walks).
Food
Fourteen restaurants including a teppanyaki house (Tatsu), a French brasserie (Chevere), and a stand-out Italian (Il Tramonto). The poolside grill makes a legitimately good cheeseburger, which is harder to find than it sounds.
Rooms
Rooms are spread across several buildings. Turquoize is the adults-only tower with a private pool. Family rooms have ocean views and bunk beds for kids.
Great for
Families with kids of mixed ages — toddlers love the bay beach, older kids love the waterpark, teens have a dedicated zone. Couples can stay in Turquoize for the adults-only experience on the same property.
What to know
- The two-beach setup means you can always find calm water
- Nightly entertainment is better than the Cancun average
- Wi-Fi is included and fast throughout the resort
- Upgraded to “Ziva” brand in 2015 with full renovation — property feels newer than it is
